Zoe Has Earned Student of the Month of June!

Zoe, a pianist for one year, excels in piano. An inspiration to her younger sister (who recently began taking piano lessons), the two of them will play "Jesus Loves Me" as a duet at a local nursing home next week. Surely Zoe fills her home with the exuberant sounds of music, as she has embarked on her second lesson book (mastering over 50 songs)! Zoe regularly serenades others with her own compositions, including her most recent, "Martian Anthem." Moreover, she learned an arrangement of "Heart and Soul," from a commercial! Zoe graciously shares her talents with others and has played "Amazing Grace," "Silent Night," and "Shine, Jesus Shine" in local recitals.

Congratulations, Zoe!

MAY the Student of the Month Be Recognized!

Congratulations, Lauren, Student of the Month of May! Lauren began taking piano lessons on her 11th birthday (just about 2 months ago)! She plays with joy to the glory of the LORD and has recently learned the duet, “Heart and Soul.” Perhaps her most amazing feat as a pianist is that she plays “Ode to Joy” with her eyes closed! Gifted with a beautiful singing voice, she graces her home and her piano lessons with accompaniment to her piano solos. A homeschooled rising 6th grader, Lauren brightens the lives of everyone she meets with the love of Christ. Additionally, Lauren is an avid reader, self-taught artist, and member of a home school choir. It is such a blessing to see Lauren singing and playing music for God’s glory!

Jesus Loves Me

The lyrics to Jesus Loves Me first appeared in a novel that was published by Susan Warner in 1860 in which the words were spoken as a poem to comfort a dying child. Two years later, William Bradbury wrote a tune to the poem and added a chorus. Ever since, “Jesus Loves Me” has been a dearly cherished and widely sung Christian hymn.

The Student of the Month for April, Jocelyn, played Jesus Loves Me at a local assisted living facility. Praise the LORD for Jocelyn’s talents and for this beautiful hymn that has blessed hearts for centuries!

“March”ing on to the Student of the Month

Alex has recently begun taking piano lessons and has a true gift for music as a very quick learner. Since he plays clarinet in 6th grade band, he could already read treble clef notes but is now taking on the bass clef! (I’ve had the privilege of receiving “Clarinet 101” at his lessons.) Alex and his older brother are planning to play at a local assisted living facility this week for their very first recitals. He and his brother will surely bless others with their talents as they have practiced to play “Celebrate Jesus” arranged in a duet. Furthermore, Alex has a wonderful testimony of “celebrating Jesus” as he became a believer in Jesus Christ last week!
Congratulations, Alex!

May we all celebrate Jesus each day as we use the gifts He has given for His glory!

February Student of the Month

Congratulations, Alec, Student of the Month for February!

A quick, patient learner, Alec has recently begun taking piano lessons. He mastered “Ten Second Song” learning notes “C” and “G" on the staff at his very first lesson! What’s more, he taught his mom the song as well!

Alec has also begun to learn one of his favorite songs, “Me Without You” by TobyMac and has an extraordinary gift for playing duets. An excelling 5th grader, avid soccer player, and gifted musician, it’s so exciting to see Alec learning more and more each week and diligently practicing to utilize his God given talents!

Keep up the wonderful work, Alec!

Musical Happenings

Truly gifted with music, Mr. Vince began learning to play the piano when he was just eight years old. It’s certainly in his heritage….His aunt recently performed in an opera in New York City at age 82! Although Mr. Vince’s strength in music is playing by ear, he recently embraced the challenge of learning to read notes on the staff. His strategy—committed sight reading practice each week and study of note reading flashcards which, in his words, “takes with him EVERYWHERE” combined with a passion to grow his love and talents for music. Mr. Vince considers music a true blessing from God and graciously shares his musical talents with others at weddings as well as the Senior Citizens of Indian Land meetings. A “walking encyclopedia” of opera and contemporary composers, Mr. Vince's favorite pieces are Clair de Lune and Moonlight Sonata, both of which he is currently practicing to master. An inspiration to many, Mr. Vince is a wonderful testimony of devoted practice flowing into the utilization of using his God-given musical talents to bless others!

“Sing to Him a new song: Play skillfully, and shout for joy.”  ~Psalm 33:3
